Bio:

My interest in Pontiacs runs deeper than most and started from conception (I believe in the back seat of one) 60 years ago when my dad sold them. I still own my 3rd car purchased in 1968, a 1941 Pontiac Series 2511 Tudor, that I drove to high school and my 1st new car a 1970 Lemans Sport 2 door hardtop special ordered from the same dealer my dad had worked for so many years before. I joined POCI the 1st time in 1983 at the Niagara Convention. At that show I ran into other Pontiac lovers from Syracuse and from there we founded the Six Nations Chapter. I was the first president and served as newsletter editor for a few years then left the club in 1994 when I had some health issues and became financially strapped. I rejoined again in 1999 at the Buffalo convention and been active since again holding the presidents position from 2002-2005 helping to save our chapter from folding with some enthusiasm and ideas to build on like our web site www.SixNationsPOCI.org . (Best Chapter Web Site 2004 & 2009) built and maintained by my son.  I’ve attended 6 conventions with 4 different cars and own a total of 6 Pontiacs, 1 GMC, 3 Pontiac parts cars currently and my son has 2 Pontiacs.

I currently serve as a POCI Tech Advisor for 1939-1942 and a board member with the nick name CEO of the Six Nations Chapter along with being a Life Member of the Antique Automobile Club of America since 1966. I was President of the Oneida Lake Region AACA in 1974 and served as show chairman and the head of judging for the Bill Rapp Super Show numerous years.
My business Patterson Coachworks (
www.AntiqueCarParts.net) was built out of my love for cars. I’m finally at the point of taking time to finish my own cars. I’ve built several national winners and enjoy using my cars for all the fun they can provide us in so many ways other than dust collectors.  The greatest thing I think about our club and the hobby is the people. I’ve personally suffered two failed marriages with women who never understood the car hobby and strived to have our chapter be known for our family involvement. Nothing makes for more enjoyment than the loving support of a spouse no matter what the interest. I look for inclusion and encouragement for all our membership with the many hurdles a restoration can bring into our lives. I believe the time to join a club like ours is before even getting your first car. The club can provide so much in sources, connections and knowledge we can surely make it a smoother road than many discovered doing it the other way. I’m always looking for the lessons in life and strive to grow from them. I also try to live my life as an example for my son. What I hope to bring to the board of directors is a prospective to never forget our heritage and build on the legend to never let Pontiac be forgotten as we take our orphan cars into the future, Thank You for all your considerations and friendship. See you in Charleston!
